Dallas Cowboys

Randy Gregory

Key stat: On pace for 11 sacks

Randy Gregory’s emergence is going as expected. The soon-to-be free agent is having a true breakout season and the whole NFL is taking notice. In addition to his 11-sack pace, he’s on track for 23 hits, and he’s PFF’s 4th rated edge player in the NFL.

It’s amazing what can happen when the league allows you to practice and play with your teammates (Shout out to the new substance abuse policy).

The key to Gregory is what will happen when DeMarcus Lawrence comes back. Tank has been out since Week 1 and probably won’t be debuting until late November at the earliest. Tank has far and away been Dallas’ top edge rusher and top defender for years, and should be able to pick up where he left off is all things go as planned.

At first, Gregory will likely open things up for Lawrence. Gregory is a force to be feared and will command the bulk of the offenses’ attention.  But as time goes on, Lawrence will make impact plays as well, and that will pull attention his way. That will have a positive impact on both Gregory and Micah Parsons.

Will Randy Gregory continue his 11 sack pace?

No, I think he’ll improve that pace. Randy is settling in and is already considered one of the very best pass rushers in the league.

All four of his sacks have come in the last three games indicating his recent pace will put him in 15+ sack territory. Regardless, his pressures are high and that the biggest indicator of sustained success. Gregory is a star.
