Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft

Myjai Sanders – Defensive End – Cincinnati

Again I am heading into this round thinking linebacker, second most picked was Christian Harris but was usually gone, offensive line help, and defensive help. Just as in the first round a talent fell a little bit and Myjai Sanders was there. Sanders is a defensive end who uses an explosive first step and an array of hand movements to get to a quarterback in a hurry. While he is not the biggest defensive end and there is some worry about his strength against the run, I am thinking of using Sanders and a Parsons type guy. Maybe not to that level, but that flexibility.

We saw Dan Quinn this year move players around and the desire for flexibility. Sanders is an edge but his North/South style and speed make for an interesting case for him to play some situational linebacker. Think more of a 3-4 defense than a 4-3 defense or how Parsons can rush from anywhere, Myjai could do the same. He isn’t same same physical freak Parsons is, but he is still impressive.

The downside here is of course he doesn’t do a ton to help your defensive line against the run and with it being so early and just making initial assessments, it may not work out this way and it would change the outlook. If that is the case, he is still a very good edge pass rusher who will help right away. Now we look for offensive line and safety help.
