Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft

Jesse Luketa – Linebacker – Penn State

There was not a defensive tackle or corner I really liked in this spot and Luketa was the best player available. Luketa is one of those tweener linebackers who can play linebacker and defensive end. I am not sure he has the coverage skills to play a lot in coverage, but he is a good run defender, blitz options, and a non-stop motor.

Luketa may not have a perfect spot for him right away, but he has the ability to give more flexibility. His ability to play downhill and still see the ball carrier and get to them is impressive. He may not beat everyone to the edge, but he will try to find his way there. He would add to a pass rush that needs bodies.

With one more pick left in the draft, corner and defensive line are both targets, but just about any position is open. Without a pick in the seventh round, unless there are trades, the Cowboys will call it night after this pick. All that said, the last pick of the first mock.
