Dallas Cowboys 2022 7-Round Mock Draft: Post-Senior Bowl Edition

Dallas Cowboys 2022 7-round mock draft
Round 2, Pick
Jamaree Salyer, OG
Georgia
I love Kenyon Green and Zion Johnson in the first round of this draft but I have Kenyon going in the top-half and I passed on Zion because Jermaine Johnson was available. If Johnson was gone, Zion would probably have been my pick. That’s how important I view RG this year.
With Connor Williams leaving and Connor McGovern a better LG (and reserve option), the Dallas Cowboys desperately need a premium guard from this draft. We know Dallas runs the ball whether it works or not (don’t get me started) so we might as well improve the conditions rather than complain about the play-calling.
Jamaree Salyer from Georgia could be just what this offensive line needs to light a spark and once again become the force it once was. At 6-foot-2, 320lbs, Salyer is a beast of a man. The converted tackle projects as a power guard who can pull and play on the move.
He has a good anchor and can withstand those bull-rushes Dallas Cowboys fans have complained about throughout the Connor Williams era (frankly, ever since Ronald Leary left). He has excellent balance and a track record of success in pass protection.
Salyer’s arms measured 34 inches which puts him in good company. He keeps opponents off his body and uses that 80 inch wingspan to his advantage.
Some may see it as a gamble moving him from OT to OG but I see this as an asset. Every year I look for guys who could be better pros than they were in college, simply by switching their position. I think that could be a the case here.
