Dallas Cowboys 7-Round Mock Draft: Free Agency Edition 1.0
With the 24th pick in the NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys Select:
There could be plenty of quality prospects worthy of the 24th selection, but between the ability of the player and the need for the Dallas Cowboys, Texas A&M Guard Kenyon Green is a fantastic pick.
Not only will Green immediately fill in at Left Guard, but he likely upgrades the position from day 1 over what the Cowboys have had since Ron Leary. Green would also be expected to be and is perfectly capable of being better than Leary was. That’s absolutely ideal for your first round selection.
Green offers position flexibility. After all, he’s a guard upon arrival, but he’s also a possible Tyron Smith replacement down the road. Green may not have flashed at the combine, but he proves himself on tape consistently. At 6’4″ 323lbs and over 34″ arms, he’s already more of the prototype guard compared to what the Dallas Cowboys have had over the last four seasons on the left side.
The key component to adding Green is his work in the run game. Dallas will enter 2022 with Zeke Elliott and Tony Pollard in the backfield, once again, and Green can help the rushing attack stay consistent.
