With the 88th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys Select:

123. . WR. Dallas Cowboys. Alec Pierce. 88. player

Again, the Dallas Cowboys just need to pick good football players, regardless of what else is going on with the roster. That’s exactly what they do here with Wide Receiver Alec Pierce from Cincinnati.

The Dallas Cowboys seem to be on the verge of bringing back Michael Gallup, but between his injury recovery time, Amari Cooper’s departure, and Cedrick Wilson potentially getting a hefty pay day elsewhere, it’d be best to add a play making pass catcher to cover yourself now, but also set you up for the future.

He was a deep threat for the Bearcats averaging over 22 yards per catch in four different games as well as an Academic All-American.

While their build is different, there’s actually similarities in Pierce and Michael Gallup’s game. Both are tough and play excellent down the boundaries. Athletic guys you can throw it up to in one on one situations whether down the field or in the corner of the end zone. Gallup was pick 81 in the third round in 2018. Here at pick 88 in the third round of 2022, Pierce could reasonably do what Gallup did his rookie season (33 rec, 507 yards, 2 TDs) and that’s the exact kind of contribution you look for out of a third round rookie.
