One week into free agency for the Dallas Cowboys, a few questions have been answered entering our next Dallas Cowboys 7-round mock draft. I think we can all agree, with both Malik Hooker and Jayron Kearse returning, safety is probably not going to be a high pick, right?

But with no clear answer at left guard, no word on Brent Urban, a miss on Randy Gregory at defensive end, and some questions at wide receiver, these four positions remain higher in need than they’d otherwise be. However, the Cowboys could feel good with Josh Ball at left guard, they did bring in Dante Fowler at defensive end and James Washington at receiver, but the feeling is the Cowboys need more at both positions and we’re not just talking about depth.

For this mock, I used a combination of The Draft Network, Pro Football Focus, and Pro Football Network to run mock drafts. The name you see is the most often available and selected name based on current needs and the best player available at the time. I did use trades since the Cowboys have four fifth-round picks so I used a couple to try and move around a little for targets.

With several unclear pictures, I based the needs off what I have seen fans talking about on both Twitter and Facebook as well as talking to several other writers and content creators. I used some assumptions based on certain criteria that we believe the Cowboys to be looking at in terms of size, length, and speed. Without further delay, on to round one.
