Dallas Cowboys 2022 7-Round Mock Draft: Dallas trades back and surprises
By Reid Hanson
Dallas Cowboys (Round 6, Pick 193)
Raleigh Texada, CB
Baylor
Once upon a time Raleigh Texada was considered a top cornerback prospect in the draft. The Baylor speedster was in some scouts top-10 heading into the 2021 season and he seemed primed for greatness. But this winter things have cooled and he’s seen as a Day 3 lock and in some boards nothing more than an undrafted free agent.

The Dallas Cowboys see a player with speed and traits you can’t teach. They see a kid with inside/outside versatility that can be groomed behind veterans Jourdan Lewis and Anthony Brown. They have a Dallas Day invite who they’ve seen play firsthand and has a track record of success
Dallas Cowboys Draft summary
Some are going to be disappointed in this mock draft because the Cowboys didn’t pick up a top receiver or a top guard. Valuing OT ability more, Dallas opted for a moving piece with their first pick and added a future starting pass-rusher, starting WR, future starting TE, and two developmental interior O-linemen along the way.
They added depth at LB and added a versatile defensive lineman inside/outside rotation. The draft didn’t fall their way so they adapted and found a way to fill their holes.
