We are almost two weeks away from the 2022 NFL Draft and starting to get some answers for the holes the Dallas Cowboys are looking to fill. This Cowboys 7-round mock draft will focus on filling those holes.

But before we get into the mock draft, let’s go over the rules and setup. I used all three major mock draft machines in The Draft Network, Pro Football Focus, and Pro Football Network to run multiple simulations.

The names you see listed were the most picked names. I used a combination of their big boards and my own rankings. If there is a trade, it will be noted within the draft, so be sure to read through the discussion if you are unsure of why there could be extra picks.

For the Dallas Cowboys, the needs will be the ones I discussed in my last article, so be sure to catch up. I used the Best Player Available (BPA) method for picking with regard to unfilled needs and positional value. For instance, the best player may be a running back or quarterback, but the Cowboys picking either early would be at best the longest of shots, so we move to a different position.

The Dallas Cowboys have several unaddressed positions they’ll target in this 7-round mock draft

A few last things of note before we get started need to be mentioned:

  • I am also using some of the recent history of the Cowboys to help shape this.
  • I did aim for certain players the Cowboys have looked at, but if they were not there or might be a reach I did not grab them.
  • What we do not know currently is how the Cowboys actually view certain position groups, so we will make some assumptions. Now, let’s get to the mock draf!
