With the 193rd pick in the 2022 NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys select
Itās not that the Dallas Cowboys have been linked to Isaih Pacheco but rather they have a history of drafting RBs late and with both Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard possibly playing their last season in Dallas, Pacheco fits the bill.
Pacheco looks to be equal parts big play weapon and short yardage back. His 4.37 speed is elite and his 5-foot-10 216lbs frame is pure stone. But despite the traits and ability he hasnāt been either of those things in his college career. Lacking instincts and open holes, Pacheco hasnāt been a homerun weapon or a goal line beast his measurables say he is.
I really hope this isnāt @isaih_pacheco last game but if it is, THANK YOU for everything youāve done for this program!

Iāll still never forget this run against Michigan! pic.twitter.com/73mDFcZEWs
He has one-cut ability, explosiveness and physicality, but less than 8 percent of his runs went for over 10-yards last year. Thatās hard to do (in a bad way). But Pacheco can pass protect, catch the ball and return kicks. He could carve out an immediate role in Dallas and offers those elite traits as a developmental prospect as well.
Who knows what could happen if he plays behind a strong offensive line?
Dallas Cowboys Pick Breakdown
The Dallas Cowboys picked up starters at OG, K, and WR and added a future starter at DE along the way. They added depth at LB and RB and brought in competition at OC. They have a developmental TE who should start as soon as 2023 and did it all without dipping into next seasons picks.
With free agents on the board and compensatory penalties over (it concludes after the draft) the Dallas Cowboys will fill the rest of their holes with veterans.
Is this how I want things to transpire? No. This is a forecast of what I expect to see this weekend. While all mock drafts are notoriously wrong, they give us insight into what the Cowboys are thinking and what to expect should certain scenarios shake out. This is based on needs and rumblings so itās largely fact-based.
But anything can happen this weekend so weāll wait and see how it unfolds.
