Dallas Cowboys Undrafted Free Agency 2022: Who are these guys?

Peyton Hendershot, TE, Indiana

With the loss of Blake Jarwin there was a huge hole with only Dalton Schultz’s name etched in as a starter. The Dallas Cowboys could use overall depth at the position and Hendershot offers a receiving option. Hendershot will need time on the practice squad but special teams play might be his best chance getting on the field early.

Hendershot has reliable hands and catches well in traffic, with only one recorded drop in 2021. He has a huge frame which gives him a good catch radius and an ability to shield defenders from the ball. Finds zones well and sits in them but can also run a varied route tree.

Hendershot has some off-field concerns which are an immediate red flag. He pled guilty to assaulting his girlfriend, entered a program, and has not had an incident since. He lacks speed and explosiveness to really be a dynamic weapon in the passing game. He is below average as a blocker and needs work to get to average.
