3 free agents the Dallas Cowboys must sign
Will Fuller, WR
Age: 28
Will Fuller is a player I’ve admittedly been clamoring for all offseason. The former Texan-turned-Dolphin has had an up and down NFL career since getting drafted in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. When on the field, the 28-year-old burner has been a game-breaker. His numbers and the numbers of teammates around him grow to elite levels when defenses had to account for him.
The problem is they don’t always have to account for him. Fuller has missed significant time throughout his NFL career. For as effective as he’s been in the NFL, he’s equally as unreliable and injury prone. After missing all but two games last year, chances are whoever signs him will already have 3-4 capable WRs on the roster and will not be counting on Fuller filling a very prominent role.
Enter the Dallas Cowboys.
With CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Jalen Tolbert, and James Washington, the Dallas Cowboys have decent depth at WR. All four can line up at a variety of places and should be able to fill a variety of roles. But one element is missing from the Dallas stable and that’s speed. As discussed yesterday, the Dallas Cowboys are thirsty for speed.

They have deep threats but they don’t have anyone that actually stretches defenses. The distinction is an important one to make. Getting someone like Fuller who, even today, has special speed is all the Cowboys need to put their attack over the top. Defense will have to account for him and he can stretch them both horizontally and vertically.
As stated earlier, the players sitting on the market at this point in the season are there for a reason. But that’s not as if they can’t be valuable in the right role. All of these players would help the Dallas Cowboys stabilize their respective units and would be assets for the 2022 season at low money and next to zero commitment.
