5 possible new starters for the Dallas Cowboys in 2022

5 new Dallas Cowboys starters
Kelvin Joseph, Dallas Cowboys CB
Kelvin Joseph was supposed to be shoe-in for the starting cornerback spot opposite Trevon Diggs this season. One horrendous incident later (which claimed the life of a man) and Joseph’s future is in flux. The Dallas Cowboys have decided to stand but their 2021 second round pick but the NFL may have different intentions.
Despite being cleared from prosecution so far, KJ was a verified party involved in the deadly situation. The NFL has suspended players for far less and the Dallas Cowboys should absolutely EXCPECT a suspension for Joseph this year.
We probably won’t know until later in the summer to know the severity of the punishment but assuming it’s not an entire year, Joseph is still seen as the favorite to start on the boundary.
He will likely be replacing veteran Anthony Brown who is more slot CB than boundary CB. The Cowboys want Brown playing inside but are lucky to have such an affordable player capable of doing both.
Joseph is already on his last life with the Cowboys and he probably knows it. His reputation proceeded him to the NFL and he should be extra motivated to seize this opportunity and show his impressive skillset once and for all.
As we mentioned at the start, no one is a shoe-in and all of these new roles will need to be earned, but the way it looks now these players have the inside track on new starting spots in 2022.
