Things have settled down now in Dallas Cowboys Country. The bulk of free agency has passed, the NFL Draft is long gone, and mini-camps have concluded. Nothing to do now but sit back and wait for Cowboys Camp to kick off in Oxnard.

What better time than now to kick off our second 53-man roster prediction of the offseason and speculate as to who will make the final cut on the Dallas Cowboys 53-man roster?

We look at the roster and predict who will make the Dallas Cowboys 53-man roster this 2022 season

Knowing that things will change once the pads come on and competition in training camp begins, we can make some pretty strong arguments regarding who’re locks, who’re on the bubble, and who are swimming upstream.

We can determine where the Dallas Cowboys are likely to go long and where they will probably go short. Most importantly we understand every player comes at a price and if one project player is kept in one place, that’s one less player at another place.

We kick things off at the same place we always do – on special teams

Special Teams (3)

Jonathan Garibay, Brian Anger, Jake McQuaide

The latter two players are a foregone conclusion. Punter, Brian Anger was one of the best in the business last season and just signed a multi-year extension this year to solidify his spot for the foreseeable future. Long-snapper, Jake McQuaide is also rated highly and a lock to carry his special teams spot another year in Dallas.

Kicker is where things get tricky.

The Dallas Cowboys cut bait with Greg Zuerlein this offseason and seem intent with rolling the dice on a young kicker. Jonathan Garibay, a former Texas Tech kicker, stands now as the only kicker on the roster. While that’s likely to change before now and training camp, the rookie clearly has the inside track on the job in 2022.

Garibay comes with a huge leg and plenty of hype. His college resume is a little thin (we discuss Garibay in greater detail here) but if the Dallas Cowboys are willing to go through growing pains, developing him could pay of down the road.
