Dallas Cowboys 53-man roster projection: SAF and CB

Cornerback (6)

Trevon Diggs, Anthony Brown, Jourdan Lewis, Nahshon Wright, Isaac Taylor-Stuart, C.J. Goodwin

What should be glaringly apparent here is the absence of Kelvin Joseph. The NFL is investigating his involvement with a March homicide and will likely rule on it by training camp. Regardless of criminal charges, the NFL will hand out punishments as they seem fit.

We expect a punishment (see article at the bottom)

How long of a suspension is unknown but given the severity of the situation and partial admission of guilt (he was there but wasn’t the trigger man) we should hope for the best and brace for the worst. If I had to pick a number, I’d say KJ gets six games, so I’m leaving him off this initial 53-man roster prediction and giving Taylor-Stuart the last roster spot, if only temporarily

C.J. Goodwin has a job no matter what – don’t we all know that by now?

Safety (4)

Jayron Kearse, Malik Hooker, Donovan Wilson, Markquese Bell

This is one of the more difficult units to predict. Tyler Coyle and Israel Mukuamu are second year players with versatility and potential. Both are pet cats of mine and it pains me to leave them off the roster, but I can’t ignore the talk of camp and that is Markquese Bell.

Bell, a rookie UDFA this year, looks like a post-draft steal for Dallas. If he keeps doing his thing, he’s going to make the team.

The Cowboys may even decide to keep one less defensive lineman like say Quinton Bohanna (bottom-3 player on the roster this year and a bit redundant with Ridgeway).

Tougher player to replace: Amari Cooper or Randy Gregory?. light. Trending

Next. Prepare to be without Kelvin Joseph Cowboys fans. dark

Where do you think we went wrong. Who should be making it and who should be cut loose to make room?
