Dallas Cowboys 53-man roster prediction (training camp edition 1.0)

Dallas Cowboys roster prediction
Receiver (6): CeeDee Lamb, James Washington, Jalen Tolbert, Simi Fehoko, KaVontae Turpin, Noah Brown
There’s a couple big names missing from this mix and they are Michael Gallup and T.J. Vasher. The Dallas Cowboys desperately want to avoid the PUP with Gallup in Week 1 (which would mean he’s out for 4 weeks) and have him on the appropriate timeline to do so. It’s doable but going to be tough. Until he’s cleared from the preseason PUP and practicing in Oxnard, I’m going to assume he’s out of the mix.
T.J. Vasher is another player Dallas Cowboys fans may be surprised to see miss the cut. The 6-foot-5 WR from Texas Tech has abnormally long arms and big hands. He’s a jump ball freak who lit up camp with an especially tasty grab in the endzone. But before we bump Noah Brown or Simi from the roster, we’re going to have to see more of it. So we have him firmly on the bubble today.
Noah Brown is a coaching staff favorite and one of the best run blockers in the NFL. He can play inside and block on the move, front side or back. Simi has been focusing on the same job duties so he’s going to challenge Brown for a spot as the inside blocking WR this year.
Simi also gets the early nod because of his size, speed, and strength. He can do things others cannot and he had draft pick pedigree helping him out.
Finally, the tiny Turpin makes the cut as a top gadget man and returner. He’s been a human joystick in camp and is already a lock in my book to make the team based on his return ability alone.
