Dallas Cowboys final roster prediction (Post-Denver edition)
By Reid Hanson
Dallas Cowboys LB, SAF, CB
Linebacker (5) Micah Parsons, Leighton Vander Esch, Jabril Cox, Anthony Barr, Devin Harper
The Dallas Cowboys play mostly 2-LB sets so when Parsons is off-ball, there’s only room for one more. But I expect him to rotate often with Barr (freeing Micah to play EDGE) and LVE and Cox to rotate alongside.
Devin Harper has been a standout lately and his special team play should lock him into a spot.
Cornerback (5) Trevon Diggs, Anthony Brown, Jourdan Lewis, DaRon Bland, Nahshon Wright
The first three are your starters. DaRon Bland was a star in Denver and a bright part of training camp. He can play special teams and both nickel and boundary CB. Nahshon Wright was terrible on Saturday but has had a pretty solid camp. That keeps him on the roster.
Kelvin Joseph will likely start the season suspended for his involvement in an offseason homicide. He’s been terrible all camp so a little “time out” may actually save his job.
Safety (4) Malik Hooker, Jayron Kearse, Donovan Wilson, Markquese Bell
Undrafted free agent Bell secures the last spot. He’s been a solid player since mini-camp and a virtual lock as SAF-4. My pet cat Tyler Coyle misses the cut here because Dallas needs to keep things slim to support that bloated WR room. Israel Mukuamu is also just on the wrong side of the cutoff and headed back to the practice squad.
Special Teams: 3
Offense: 26
Defense: 24
