The Dallas Cowboys have been having an eventful training camp this summer. After churning out some of their top players in the offseason, roster spots are up for grabs. On both sides of the ball we have a number of worthy competitors fighting for spots.

Preseason games have kept the “sure things” on the sideline and pushed out the young guys in high leverage competition. To say the games carry a little extra weight is an understatement. Mike McCarthy heights “mojo moments” in camp as a way of putting emphasis on the big moments.

Here are three bold predictions for the upcoming Dallas Cowboys game against the Chargers

It starts with a player who has been looking great in training camp…

Dallas Cowboys prediction 1: Israel Mukuamu

Mukuamu has been flashing more and more in practice. One glaring improvement he’s shown is in his tackling ability. Nothing did more to keep Mukuamu off the field, heck, off the active roster last season than his struggles with being physical enough to bring down ball carriers. Now, by no means is he thumping, but he’s finishing and that’s exactly what is needed in order to make him a contributor to this team.

Mukuamu also came away with a nice interception in a joint practice against the Chargers on Wednesday. It was a play where the length was really on display. Dallas Cowboys brass has to be impressed with his ability to high point the ball.

Saturday, we’ll see both of these guys display their skills and unique build. Not only will both Wright and Mukuamu make plays and avoid the next round of cuts, but they’ll all but solidify their spot on the final 53-man roster.
