DALLAS COWBOYS VS. TAMPA BAY BUCS – RUNNING BACKS

This is an intriguing spot for the Dallas Cowboys. Both teams have franchise QBs who they’ll likely put the game on their shoulders. Both teams have starting RBs who perhaps aren’t what they once were. Both teams have younger RBs who can catch out of the backfield and make people miss.

Even so, this one isn’t all that close. Ezekiel Elliott ran for 1,000 yards on a partially torn PCL and was an absolute terror prior to the injury. Tony Pollard is the perfect compliment and could see more touches as the Dallas Cowboys look to replace Amari Cooper’s production. Pollard is the team’s second most explosive player on offense, arguably after KaVontae Turpin.

For the Bucs, Leonard Fournette is still a quality player and helps to protect Tom Brady, but he’s not a home run threat anymore. The Bucs did draft Rachaad White who brings some Pollard-like traits, but we’ve seen Pollard do it and hope to see more. White still has to go put it on the field.

RUNNING BACKS VERDICT:

DALLAS – Neither run game may be much of a factor even though the Dallas Cowboys seem dedicated to run the ball this season. So if either of these teams runs it’ll be the Dallas Cowboys. Zeke is tremendous as avoiding negative plays and Pollard is a threat from anywhere.

Now that we’ve covered the offensive side of the ball, let’s flip the field and go look at two very good defenses.
