DALLAS COWBOYS VS. TAMPA BAY BUCS – LINEBACKERS

Another tough one for the Dallas Cowboys. Another area of strength for both teams.

The Tampa Bay Bucs sport Shaq Barrett, Devin White, and LaVonte David. Throw in Tryon-Shoyinka though he and Barrett are primarily edge rushers and that’s a group to cause havoc. They also have high hopes for youngster Olakunle Fatukasi. It’s a deep and talented unit. They are particularly good at rushing the passer from the inside or off the edge.

The Dallas Cowboys love their linebacking core as well. Micah Parsons is again the top player for either side. The team brought back Leighton Vander Esch who had a strong off season and signed Pro Bowler Anthony Barr. Second year man Jabril Cox looks to make his impact felt as well after suffering a season ending injury his rookie year. Cox, however, how shown his burst and playmaking ability this preseason. Add in breakout star Jayron Kearse from a season ago and this is one of the best tackling LB groups in the NFL.

LINEBACKER VERDICT:

DALLAS – It’s a very close call, but once again one of these teams has Micah Parsons and the other doesn’t. The signing of Anthony Barr took this unit from unstable and thin to absolutely stacked. With LVE feeling the pressure to play well as Barr and Cox get more reps. Here’s the difference in the two units. The Bucs play extremely well in front of them. As in rushing the passer and stopping the run. Dallas with Parsons, Barr, Cox and Kearse can also cover extremely well. Dallas is simply more well rounded.
