Dallas Cowboys Key 1: Run defense

The Cowboys have to play better run defense. After re-watching the Washington game tape. I saw the defensive line getting moved out of their gaps too often and putting Anthony Barr and Leighton Vander Esch in compromising situations to make plays on the ball. I expect better effort and gap assignment this week.

They have to do a better job at gap assignment. Sean McVay didn’t just fall off the boat. I expect him to make the proper adjustments and attempt to attack what could be a Cowboys weakness.

Dallas Cowboys Key 2: Run Offense

The Dallas Cowboys’ running game stalled last week resulting in Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard combining for a pedestrian 55 yards on 27 carries. Dallas have to reestablish their running game. The Cowboys back-up signal caller has thrived off of player action these last three weeks.

Per PFF: Cooper Rush is currently PFF’s highest-graded QB (90.5 passing grade) on play-action passes, as he’s gone 21-of-30 for 295 yards and a TD with 2 “big-time throws.”
Without play-action, Rush is PFF’s 7th-worst graded QB (46.5 passing grade).

The Dallas interior offensive line better be locked in because on Sunday, they will be facing the most disruptive interior force known as Aaron Donald.

Per Next Gen Stats: Rams All-Pro DT Aaron Donald has generated multiple QB pressures in 56 games.
