Dallas Cowboys 4 keys to victory over the Rams in Week 5
By John Herndon
Dallas Cowboys Key 3: Eliminate the penalties.
We have seen too many the self-inflicted wounds popping up after four weeks. It didn’t cost the Dallas Cowboys last week but it could cost them this week. While the Rams offense has struggled this season but you don’t want to give them the kind of field position that was rewarded Washington last week.
"“Any penalty – I’ve told you a hundred times – can be eliminated by concentration or good judgment.” – Bill Parcells"
They have been drive stoppers or they have allowed the opposing teams to continue their drives. Dallas have to clean this up on Sunday and going forward. The Rams don’t need any signs of hope.
Dallas Cowboys Key 4: Take away Cooper Kupp
Cooper Kupp remains a stud and the Rams are forcing him to play several different roles. Last season, Kupp thrived in the slot. This season is a different story.
He lacks a sidekick speedster who can stretch the field opposite of him and the Rams offense has not shown any kind of intermediate game.
Opposing defenses have shown the Rams plenty Cover-3 looks and with the lack of weapons not named Cooper Kupp. Matthew Stafford has not many options to pick from. Take away Cooper Kupp and force Tyler Higbee and Allen Robinson to beat you.
Give me Dallas 24-13. This particular road game will feel more like a home game. I expect SoFi Stadium will easily host 30K plus Cowboy fans on Sunday.
