Dallas Mavericks Trade Option No. 2: Terrence Ross (Orlando)

The Orlando Magic are in the midst of a…you guessed it…rebuild. With an average age of well under 24, Ross doesn’t quite fit the mold of what the Magic seem to be doing. Ross, 31, is coming off a bad season and playing in the last year of his current deal, he could find himself on the block sooner rather than later.

At $11 million, Ross won’t break the bank for the Mavs. He has to improve his efficiency but there are reasons to believe his slump last year was an outlier and not an indication of things to come. Historically, he shoots over  36 percent from three, but last year that number plummeted below 30.

This is a buy low situation for Dallas that could pay off nicely if he just swings back to his normal career averages.

Dallas Mavericks Trade Option No 3: Eric Gordon (Houston)

Eric Gordon, 33, is making 19.568 million in the last guaranteed year of his deal in Houston. The Rockets are going nowhere fast so they won’t take much convincing to send off an aged shooter who doesn’t figure into their future.

Gordon shoots well, he can create on his own, and he plays offense AND defense – not so common traits for a veteran his age.
