The Dallas Cowboys tried to go lean at the receiver position for the majority of the season. James Washington missed most of the year to injury. Michael Gallup is still trying to regain his preinjury form. Noah Brown is producing career numbers but also about what you’d expect from a WR4 playing WR3.

Alas, the WR reinforcements are on the way…

T.Y. Hilton will make his Dallas Cowboys debut on Christmas Eve against the Eagles

T.Y. Hilton, Dallas’ big mid-December signing, appears ready to roll in the Cowboys third-to-last regular season game of the year.

Hilton, the former Indianapolis All-Pro, was said to be in game shape at the time of his signing. After thoroughly digesting the playbook, Hilton only lacks the chemistry with Dallas Cowboys signal-caller, Dak Prescott, and he should be fully up-to-speed.

Speaking of up to speed, for most of Hilton’s career he’d been regarded as one of the fastest players in the NFL. How much of that speed Hilton still has at the age of 33 remains to be seen, but reports have certainly indicated he still has that big play ability that earned him so much notoriety with the Colts.

Hilton will likely share WR3 honors on Saturday as Dallas integrates him into the offense. Sharing snaps with Noah Brown and James Washington would do everyone good on offense. It gives the Dallas Cowboys flexibility to line up 11 personnel in vastly different formations.

Hilton specifically gives Dallas the deep speed they’ve needed all season. Even if Hilton has lost a step, chances are good he’s still a legit big play threat and someone the defense has to respect in a way they wouldn’t to either Brown or Washington.

How T.Y. Hilton looks in his debut will go a long way in how the Dallas Cowboys view Odell Beckham Jr in the future.
