The Dallas Cowboys will have some decisions to make this upcoming offseason. They have numerous free agents, some who will command big paydays and others that will simply warrant a new contract. According to Spotrac.com, the Cowboys will have a little over $5mil in cap space prior to any type of roster moves or adjustments.

You don’t have to be a math major to know that is going to take some serious cap maneuvering to bring back many of these current free agents.

But what if they don’t have to. The saying when a player gets injured is next man up. Well, that may have to apply here as well. The Dallas Cowboys have built depth thru the draft over the years and there’s really no reason to overpay free agents.

The trio of Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones and Will McClay have done a better job since the Ezekiel Elliott contract of trusting the process. They have let Byron Jones, Connor Williams and Chidobe Awuzie walk and didn’t miss a beat. Fortunately, for this offseason, they have the replacements already in the building so there’s no reason for the Cowboys to sweat and back up the brinks truck.
