Right off the bat, this is not going to be a fan favorite. Everyone has been waiting for Tony Pollard to reach his full potential and now that he has no one is interested in letting him walk. For the record, the Cowboys absolutely should attempt to resign the former 4th round running back but at what cost.

According to theheavy.com, the Dallas Cowboys are well aware that signing TP20 will be expensive and there will be competition for his services. Behind door number 1 is for Dallas to part ways with Ezekiel Elliott and anoint Pollard as their high paid running back. That’s probably what most fans have been clamoring for.

However, there is another option for America’s team behind door number 2. Enter, Malik Davis. In smaller sample sizes, he has shown a lot of potential for this team. He has accounted for 143 yards on a limited 33 carries and a touchdown according to ESPN.com. That’s 4.3 yards a touch. Not too shabby. Couple Davis with another mid-round pick at running back and they’ll have the formula – young, cost efficient and effective on the field.
