Dallas Cowboys Player No. 2

This option is going to be a bit different and cheaper than that of the Tony Pollard situation. It’s possible Leighton will get an offer sheet from another team, but it’s not engraved in stone. Last offseason, it was pretty quiet for Leighton to the point where the Dallas Cowboys were able to get him to return on a team friendly deal.

Prior to the injury, Leighton was playing some of his best ball this season. It is possible that a team could show interest and offer him a new contract. If that happens, the Cowboys won’t need to look far for replacements. Damone Clark should have a say in who is up next for that MIKE position. Micah Parsons may want to throw his name in the ring as well but for this article will stick with just Damone.

The Ex-LSU linebacker would create a bit of heartburn for Dallas. They would be replacing a player with a history of neck injuries for another player coming off a serious neck issue.  But since Clark has been in the lineup, he’s accounted for 44 combined tackles and 2 forced fumbles. He can afford to gain a few pounds but with another offseason he’ll be ready to man the middle.
