The New Boss in Dallas Cowboys Land

Sunday, I wrote in length. The Dallas Cowboys didn’t hire Mike McCarthy to win a bunch of regular season games and falter in January.

They hired him to take them on deep runs in the playoffs. To display the NFL coaching DNA, he showed as the Head coach of the Green Bay Packers. Tonight, did he ever.

Truth be told, McCarthy has done a lot of great things since coming onboard. Winning 4 out of 5 games with Cooper Rush as your QB says a lot.

This was the most impressive victory in the Mike McCarthy era.

Dallas Cowboys Pups

Inserting Israel Mukuamu into the lineup was a significant change. His ability to play nickel back allowed to move DaRon Bland outside.

Mukuamu has shown that nothing is too big for him to handle. The former CB out of South Carolina with elite size was on full display. The ability to play coverage while having the size to aid in the run game.

The game means a lot to him. When Mukuamu was selected by the Cowboys on draft night he had a emotional moment. Dallas has a keeper here.

How impressive has Tyler Smith has been? Don’t matter if you move him side or outside, he takes it all in stride. He making a certain number 73 proud. Very few players can handle Vita Vea straight up. Smith is one of the few.

Hankins’ return and DT Chauncey Golston’s recent emergence contributed to Neville Gallimore and Quinton Bohanna being inactive tonight.
