Dallas Cowboys Dominate Bucs: Dak Prescott MVP and more observations
By John Herndon
Achilles and his Myrmidons
Micah Parsons has shown he is the Cowboys best player. A true generational talent with a motor that burns hot every snap he plays. Not making him a full time edge rusher was smart. That prevented the Buccaneers from keying on him. Playing linebacker strengthen that unit. He still rushed the passer, but he affected the game even more.
The Cowboys’ pass rush made the great Tom Brady look like just a dude. They harassed him all night, moving him off his spots, and sacked him twice.
Mike Peters
Brent Maher is no longer Money, baby. He has reverted back to the insecure Mike Peters.
McCarthy stayed with him to try let him work his way out of things. I don’t know if he did.
He’s been great all season but missed four extra points. A new NFL postseason record. It is in his head now.
Dallas better bring in another kicker to cover themselves. Those misses didn’t cost them tonight, but it could next week Sunday.
They can’t ignore the mental Olympics. It was a horror movie. This was the reason Maher was released in 2019.
Maher was so bad he had Dak dropping F bombs.
If the Cowboys don’t have a new kicker by Wednesday, they are playing with fire. Except it don’t appear they will move on from him.
Summary
When you witness a game of this nature, you walked away impress and bask in the victory. You don’t want to nitpick.
This was the Cowboys’ best win since beating the Vikings. This was the first road playoff win since 1992.
These are not your Daddy’s Dallas Cowboys. This unit wants to be a part of Cowboys lore. This was a great way to start. Massive confidence boast for this young group.
Enjoy this one. Wednesday we can think about the 49ers.
