Dallas Cowboys 7-Round Mock Draft: Episode One (Filling Holes)
The Dallas Cowboys had their season end playing an outstanding San Francisco team. The game was a microcosm of the issues this team had; near the bottom of the league in pass blocking, one reliable wide receiver, a “featured” RB who doesn’t break big plays anymore, mediocre playcalling, and of course the corner opposite of Trevon Diggs.
Before you say it, no the quarterback is not being replaced nor is he in your top 5, hell 10, problems to fix.
So with the season over, we turn to the draft and start trying to figure out how this team can improve. Not knowing if they will actually use free agency, which players they will keep or release if they will change any coaches out, and who they re-sign, we will go off what we know today and start diving into the draft.
Players will certainly rise and fall, but we will use a mix of current rankings to get our first mock draft of the 2023 off-season.
The Dallas Cowboys have a lot of holes to fix heading into the off-season, and we start looking at some possible names in our first mock draft of the season.
Before we get to round one, we are going to assume they need the following positions; at least one wide receiver, a cornerback, a defensive tackle, a left guard, linebacker depth, and possibly a running back.
We could argue they need more than that, but we will start there with the most glaring needs. I don’t believe they will go wide receiver early unless someone like Jaxon Smith-Njigba drops, not with the money tied up there and their draft pick of Jalen Tolbert last year, but it could happen. With that all said, let’s jump into round one.
