Round Five – Sean Tucker – Running Back – Syracuse

I think most people agree that the Dallas Cowboys have some hard decisions at the running back position. There is a good chance they could keep both Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard, however, there still feels like there is room to add to the position. Tucker would be a good Pollard replacement should the team decide to move in that direction.

Tucker has the speed to take one to the house at any time and gets to his top speed quickly. He is quick into cuts and sees the field well. He is patient in waiting for holes to open, and decisive when making a cut to go upfield. He is hard to bring down and seems to get extra yards where there doesn’t appear to be too many.

If I could ask one thing for him to improve on it is as a pass catcher. He is inconsistent as a receiver and if he could fix this, could be a good all-around back. While he has a lot of mileage, he still has the juice, but as with all running backs you have to wonder how much tread there still is. He also won’t be your best blocking back, so don’t expect him to pick up a ton of blitzes early in his career.
