Round Six – Ricky Stromberg – Center – Arkansas

When Tyler Biadasz went down it was apparent the Dallas Cowboys had no answer for filling his role. With an overall need to work on the offensive line, Stromberg adds depth, and his versatility to be a center or guard should help him find work in the NFL. I would say he is similar to Tyler in a lot of areas.

Stromberg is a smart player who knows what he is seeing from the defense. With a larger frame, he adds some size and power inside that a lot of centers don’t quite have. He is good against power and is a solid run blocker which helps for what the Dallas Cowboys’ front office wants to do. I’d say he is better as a run blocker than a pass blocker.

Stromberg’s length isn’t ideal and it will show up against faster players. He will sometimes struggle to hold blocks long enough, and this is another length, not power, issue. He will sit in his pocket at times and have still feet. He needs to be more active in locating blocks in space.
