2. Dallas Mavericks trade for Fred VanVleet

Ever since the departure of Jalen Brunson Dallas has struggled to find an extra guard/scorer to pair next to Doncic.

An option to consider as a replacement could be Toronto’s VanVleet. The former 2019 champion is a 2022 all-star who has some of the tangible features Brunson brought to the table.

This season, he is averaging 19.1 points per game on 38.9 percent shooting. While those are step below Brunson’s production, he is still a great option to consider.

In 12 games this month he is averaging 20.5 points.

Some things that stand out is his ability to drive the basket, and his versatile shot creation.

If Dallas can pull this trade off, it would take a mixture of Tim Hadraway Jr., Reggie Bullock, or Josh Green. Toronto could be looking to gain valuable youth or shooting experience to replace the lost.

I could see this trade, only because there is a high probably the guard might walk in free agency.

3.  What about a Crowder reunion?

One possibility Dallas should consider is a Crowder reunion. The current Phoenix Suns player is unhappy with his situation, and has yet to play in a game this season.

In the playoffs last season, he averaged 9.4 points and 4.7 rebounds. Against Dallas he had four games of double-double points and had over rebounds in 25 plus minutes. In game 3 of the Western semifinals he had 19 points on 62.5 percent from three, and seven rebounds.

He has the ability to play stretch four at times, and rotate at the forward position.

While Dallas has yet to show complete interest in Crowder, the feeling should be mutual.

For starters, it would give the team an extra defensive asset, as well as an extra three-point scorer who can move around.

Assuming Dallas makes a move for their former player, some players in return could be Hardaway Jr., Josh Green or Dorian Finney-Smith. In return an asking price might be a young wing player, a draft pick or two and an extra shooter.

This could be a steal assuming the Mavs make the move.
