Peter Skoronski is one of the top offensive tackle names on the draft board this year. The decorated LT from Northwestern is one of the more polished and NFL-ready players in the 2023 NFL Draft. He’s likely at the top of every teams’ draft board, and someone every good Cowboys fan needs to know.

Peter Skoronski is a top OT prospect who the Cowboys and their draftnik fans need to know heading into the 2023 NFL Draft.

The NFL draft is a crapshoot of sorts. It’s an annual exercise in risk/reward analysis which relies heavily on projecting translatable skills and intangible characteristics. Busts are everywhere, acting as a virtual minefield to teams like the Cowboys.

Peter Skoronski is the perfect pick for the risk-adverse decision maker. He’s not the most physically gifted player in the 2023 NFL Draft, but he is one of the safest and comes with a high probability he’ll have  a long and highly rewarding career in the NFL.

At 6-foot-4, 294 lbs.(and a modest wingspan), Peter Skoronski isn’t going to meet all the size and length requirements of NFL front offices. But he’s a polished 3-year offensive tackle who’s faced off against some of the best pass rushers in college football, and enjoyed a high degree of success along the way.

He’s technically sound and holds an elite IQ. He can dominate in the running game (which translates well to the Cowboys wide zone and pin-pull) and can be an immediate difference maker.

His arm length will probably be a concern for the Cowboys (we’ll know more when measurements are made), but he has instant positional versatility to play inside at guard should he struggle against longer pass-rushers at tackle.

Projected Draft Spot: Until the NFL combine has concluded and all scouting has been completed, it’s impossible to tell where exactly Peter Skoronski is slated to go. But according to draft boards now (The Draft Network and Pro Football Focus) he appears to be in and around the 10-20 range. Measurements will likely play a big part in which direction he moves.
