Dallas Cowboys Round 2 (58): CB Kyu Blu Kelly, Stanford

If the Dallas Cowboys don’t go cornerback in the first round, they’re going to feel compelled to address the position in Round 2. Dallas struggled finding a true CB2 last season and with Anthony Brown set to hit free agency in 2023, the position remains open today.

Like WR, CB is an expensive position to address in free agency so I expect the Cowboys to use the draft early and often. Unlike WR, this CB class is deep so top quality players can be found on Day 2.

Kyu Blu Kelly , 6-foot-1, 190lbs, checks the boxes at cornerback for Dallas. The Cowboys are notorious for avoiding undersized prospects and while Kelly isn’t the longest, he’s long enough to meet te requirements of boundary CB.

The former track star brings speed and athleticism to the Dallas Cowboys on Day 1. He played over 1000 college snaps and is comfortable playing on an island and in high pressure situations. Primarily a man coverage corner, Blu Kelly  is tight in coverage and comfortable in the press.

He’s a little aggressive and will get lit up because he bit on a play-fake, but he has top-end qualities and a likeable attitude. He was voted the National team’s practice player of the week and in theprocess rocketed up a lot of draft boards.

He was beaten deep a few times and he’s not very aggressive against the run so there are flaws to his game, but all in all, Blu Kelly looks like a plug-and-play starter in the NFL and has CB1 potential as a prospect. That’s what everyone is looking for in players.
