WITH THE 212TH PICK IN THE 2023 NFL DRAFT THE DALLAS COWBOYS SELECT:

player. 123. Scouting Report. TIGHT ENDS. Old Dominion. Pick Analysis. Zack Kuntz. 212

The Dallas Cowboys are not likely to bring back Tight End Dalton Schultz. Rookies Jake Ferguson showed moments that make some eager to see him jump to the TE1 making Tight End a position that may be viewed as good to go. Hendershot can be a quality TE2 as well, but the team can still add a pass catching option along with quality depth. Not to mention a red zone target for Quarterback Dak Prescott.

Zack Kuntz lacks college production. He began his collegiate career at Penn State before transferring to Old Dominion for his final two seasons of eligibility. In his first year with the Monarchs, Kuntz racked up 73 catches for 692 yards and five touchdowns.

He was unable to duplicate those efforts when a knee injury ended his 2022 season after only five games where he collected 12 catches for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns. Meaning teams will be looking at three things when it comes to Kuntz. His lack of production, his health, and his testing.

Kuntz is slight with a 6’8″ 248lbs frame and has never shown to be a strong run blocker. However, he’s an outstanding athlete. He can run a sub 4.6s forty yard dash, is explosive, and has the coordination to be a jump ball player. Again, the medicals, along with having success only after transferring to a smaller school will be questions teams will have on this player.
