3). The wrong 3-technique was taken by the Dallas Cowboys in the third-round of 2016 draft.

2016 NFL draft for the Dallas Cowboys has been regarded as one of the team’s best drafts. They got a solid running back, a franchise quarterback, a solid nickel corner and a starting linebacker. We talked about the running back, the linebacker but there was also a defensive tackle taken in the third round. Unfortunately, as careers have progressed, it’s clear the wrong one was drafted by Dallas.

Maliek Collins was taken with the 67th pick in that draft. 16 picks later another defensive tackle was drafted and has had a far better career. Javon Hargrave is currently an unrestricted free agent that may command solid dollars in free agency. Dallas is typically cheap when it comes to outside free agents, but the defensive tackle position is again a premium position in today’s NFL.

Over seven years, Hargrave has accumulated 37.5 sacks with two teams. Collins, on the other hand, wasn’t far behind with 20.5 sacks with three teams. Jerry, this is your chance to fill a void and get yourself a legit stud in the middle of the defense only if Daron Payne isn’t on the radar. Still speaking that into existence. However, I would be elated if Javon Hargrave had a star on his helmet next season.
