The Dallas Cowboys have to keep an eye on the sneaky need on the edge. It looks nice for 2023 with Micah Parsons as the shining star to go along with second year man Sam Williams, rotational piece Dorance Armstrong and veteran Demarcus Lawrence. The problem will occur next offseason when some tough decisions will need to be made about who stays and who is a cap casualty.

That’s where Kansas State Defensive End Felix Anudike-Uzomah can help the Dallas Cowboys

Anudike-Uzomah was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and recognized as an All-American in 2022. The season prior he was named 1st team All-Big 12. He also received the honor of being a National and Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week selection in ’21 when he recorded four sacks and two forced fumbles against TCU.

Over the past two seasons, Felix Anudike-Uzomah has flourished as a pass rusher and showed significant strides as a run defender as well. In 2021, he racked up 11 sacks and added 8.5 in ’22 while getting much more attention and double teams from opposing linemen. During that same span he had 25.5 tackles for loss.

At 6-foot-4, 255lbs, Anudike-Uzomah has a similar build to Dallas Cowboys defensive End Demarcus Lawrence when he was coming out of Boise State in 2014.

Being a good athlete, should he measure and test well in this week’s NFL Combine, Anudike-Uzomah could find himself climbing up draft boards.

WHERE THIS PLAYER SHOULD BE DRAFTED: Felix Anudike-Uzomah has a lot of positives going for him. He’s a well rounded player who is still young having just turned 21 years old in late January. He has the length teams look for in their EDGE players and could step in to contribute immediately while looking to become a starter in the near future.

There is an outside chance the Cowboys could see him on the board at pick 58 in the second round, but also likely he could be a top 40 selection. A trade back scenario from pick 26 could put Anudike-Uzomah in play for the Dallas Cowboys.

EDGE may be a position of need before you know it, if they have a chance at a future star EDGE player, they may need to seize the opportunity now.
