Dallas Cowboys Round Three – A.T. Perry – Wide Receiver – Wake Forest

You may not agree with waiting until the third round for the Cowboys to grab a receiver, but upon further review, this wide receiver class isn’t that deep and I have Dallas missing out on the top 3-4 guys in the first two rounds.

A.T. Perry is one of this year’s potential steals at the receiver position. He is a pure athlete who participated in football, basketball, and track & field. Standing in at just over 6’3″, Perry has the physical attributes to be a WR2 at the X-Receiver spot. Currently occupied by Michael Gallup, Perry could supplant Gallup next season if he develops through the season while working on drops and separation.

He had a sneaky good combine, bumping his draft value from the fourth round or so up into the backend of the third. Although he has strong hands, tracks the ball well, is physical, and excels in contested catches, many may worry about his limited route tree.

Overall, Perry would start the year as a WR3 in the Cowboys’ offense who could align on the outside, in the slot, and in bunch sets. Depending on Gallup’s performance in 2023, Perry could be a viable developmental receiver this year who works his way up the depth chart and develops into the WR2 the Cowboys are desperately looking for.
