Dallas Cowboys Complete Mock Draft: The Future is Now (all rounds)
WITH THE 90TH PICK IN THE 2023 NFL DRAFT THE DALLAS COWBOYS SELECT:
For the first time since arriving in Dallas, Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn had to sit by without a defensive player being taken in the first two rounds. Here he stands up and makes his demands. Politely, of course.
When you see DeMarvion Overshown and read the measurements plus the athleticism you immediately know Dan Quinn is interested.
Overshown measured in at 6’3″ 229lbs, 32 1/4″ arms and a wing span over 78″. In his tenure at Texas Overshown saw snaps at Cornerback, Safety and Linebacker.
There was a learning curve for Overshown after converting from Safety to Linebacker in 2020. When the 2022 season came around, it was clear this player was ready to make strides.
In his final season at Texas, Overshown logged 96 tackles, 10 TFLs, and four sacks. He also pulled away three interceptions in his collegiate career. For the Dallas Cowboys, Overshown represents depth now and preparedness for later.
With the Cowboys losing Anthony Barr in addition to Jayron Kearse and Malik Hooker coming into a contract year a player like Overshown presents the opportunity for the team to stay flexible when decisions need to be made.
There’s still work to be done in his game. The linebacker position is still relatively new to Overshown, but he’s walking into perhaps the best situation he possibly could with the Dallas Cowboys.
