Dallas Cowboys Round 2, Pick 38 – Darnell Washington – TE Georgia

Height: 6-7 | Weight: 265 |

Trade w/ Raiders.

The Cardinals received: Pick 26 and 244

Dallas received: Pick 38 and 70

Darnell Washington is a man among men. A five-star recruit in the 2020 class. While he didn’t have elite production as a pass catcher, his impact was very much felt while the Bulldogs won two national champions.

He is a destroyer in the running game. A massive man with elite strength and size.

I don’t believe he will ever be the central piece in the passing attack. He will be an elite red zone target. He is not a twitchy like say Dalton Kincaid. Defensive backs will make some serious business decisions when it comes to taking him on in the open field.

Washington is the bull bison to Kincaid’s gazelle. The air threat or the run destroyer. Can’t go wrong either way.

Mike McCarthy talked about being an effective running team. Dallas wants to build a bully. What not start with your first pick of the draft, the most violent, tight end prospect we have seen in a long time?

I would have no problems if Dallas selected him with the 26 pick.
