Dallas Cowboys Complete 7-Round Mock Draft 2023: Building a Bully
By John Herndon
Dallas Cowboys Round 4, 129 – Mike Morris – EDGE Michigan
Height: 6-6 | Weight: 292
In 2022, Mike Morris tallied 7 sacks & 21 pressures. Excellent hand use paired w/ a 95% percentile wingspan that allows Morris to consistently get after the QB.
Morris’ game is raw power. I have seen him drive offensive tackles into the QB. He tosses TEs aside like they are bags of beans.
DeMarcus Lawrence was the only DE who could defend against the run on the edge. Morris has shown he can handle that.
Has the ability to flex inside, too. I am moving Micah Parson back to his role as a unicorn.
Dallas Cowboys Round 6, Pick 212 – Chandler Zavala – LG NC State
Height: 6-5 | Weight: 325
In 2022, Chandler Zavala permitted just one quarterback hit and no sacks on 422 pass-blocking snaps, and also proved to be a stout run blocker.
He is strong, stout and can move in space. He is a day 2 talent that was sitting there. I believe by the time of the draft his stock will have moved up.
Let us see what the next couple of weeks will bring us. I hope to do one or two more mock drafts before the real one is here.
