The right model

As far as Tom Brady and he takes less approach (to a certain he does), the New England Patriots do business the right way. It has nothing to do with salary. It is understanding that you can’t pay everyone else. You move on and reload with cheap labor via the draft.

They trust their scouts. Look at the list of former New England Patriot Players.

Asante Samuel, Deion Branch, Ben Watson, Matt Cassel, Wes Welker, Brandon Spikes, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Shane Vereen, Chandler Jones Jamie Collins, Daniel Graham, Richard Seymour, Adam Vinatieri, Damien Woody, Ty Warren, Lawyer Milloy

Most of them played under their rookie deals and when the cost went up, they were jettisoned away.

As far as the name free agents or players, the Patriots have signed or traded for like Darrelle Revis, Martellus Bennett, Akiem Hicks, Randy Moss, Brandin Cooks.

They were one and done or the Patriots moved on from them. When the money was higher than what New England wanted to spend.

Smart. That’s roster management. At its finest.

No way would the Patriots tag Dalton Shultz or Tony Pollard.

They would have attempted to get ahead of the market on Tank Lawrence, if they didn’t trade him. They would have gotten ahead with signing Dak Prescott.

No way would they draft an RB at 4th overall and give him a $90 million extension when they had a younger running back on the roster.

Dak Prescott talk about should take less. He’s the reason they can’t construct a team around him because he makes too much money is balderdash.
