Dallas Cowboys Complete 2023 Mock Draft- Dan 4.0
Round Three – Dorian Williams – Linebacker – Tulane
Running back is an option here as Tank Bigsby was the second most picked, but Dorian Williams fit a bigger need with linebacker depth. While the Cowboys have Leighton Vander Esch, there are some questions as to what Jabril Cox and Damone Clark will provide as starters. Williams gives the Dallas Cowboys some help with range and consistent tackling.
Williams is a fast player who is rarely out of position. With a 4.49 40 time, he has the speed to cover tight ends and running backs and come downhill in a hurry. He is an excellent tackler who works his way through the crowd with good speed and agility. He is at his best when he has free runs to the ball carrier and has shown some ability to rush the passer.
Williams will need to work on shedding blocks and recognition. He flashes the ability to do both, but consistency is going to be key for him at the next level. This slower processing at times has led him to see a play a tick late, but since he can cover ground fast and knows where he should be, he is rarely way out of position to not make a play.
