Yannick Ngakoue, DE (28-years-old)
At its core, football can be boiled down to a simple game plan comprising protecting the quarterback and putting pressure on the opposing team’s quarterback.
Throughout his entire eight-year career in the NFL, Ngakoue has consistently achieved a minimum of eight sacks per year without fail. Not only does he have experience playing both defensive end and linebacker, but he is also coming off of two very successful years, which saw him record 19.5 sacks since 2021.
Ngakoue has lost none of his athleticism and is still in his prime. Throughout his entire career, he has only missed one game.
Despite his career, he remains more of a pass rush specialist than every down starter because of his inadequate run defending skills.
Yannick Ngakoue is still a free agent.

65 sacks in 7 years. Would love to have him on the Eagles on a cheap deal.

Pressuring the quarterback is crucial for any defense, and Ngakoue is the best at it among the remaining free agent DEs. The Dallas Cowboys are pretty stacked at the edge position but you never what can happen.
Excluding Parson and Lawrence, the edge players’ late-season performance is under scrutiny. Ngakoue would be an upgrade to Armstrong or Fowler as an edge rusher.
