You never know when you're going to see a crazy blockbuster trade go down before or during the NFL Draft each year. Teams are talking trades behind the scenes all the time, and if we could all just be a fly on the wall for a day, we'd probably be shocked at some of the deals and ideas that get thrown out there by real NFL executives.

Most of that won't make it into the light of day, but that's why we're here. We are here to speculate about what could be, and what might motivate a team like the Dallas Cowboys to strike a pre-draft or in-draft trade.

What players could be on the trade block? Would the Cowboys realistically actually get rid of any star players? What might Jerry Jones and company be brewing up behind the scenes?

3 Cowboys Who Could Be Traded Before or During 2025 NFL Draft

1. Jalen Tolbert, Wide Receiver

The Cowboys traded for former second-round pick Jonathan Mingo last year and added Parris Campbell in NFL Free Agency here in the 2025 offseason. They've already given a big-money deal to CeeDee Lamb but the situation at receiver is far from settled.

For the longest time, the Cowboys have struggled to effectively replace what Amari Cooper brought to the table and they might finally do something about it in the 2025 NFL Draft. Tolbert is one of a handful of players from the 2022 NFL Draft class entering a contract year here in the 2025 season. His value will likely never be higher after a breakthrough year in 2024 where he caught 49 passes for 610 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Cowboys will have to decide whether that stat line is a true predictor of the future for Tolbert or whether that's just the peak of what he brings to the table. He isn't likely good enough to be a WR2 even with the production we saw last year and if the Cowboys use a 1st or 2nd-round pick on the receiver position, Tolbert could be an odd man out.
