3 Cowboys Trade Targets Who Would Fit in With Brian Schottenheimer

2. DK Metcalf, WR, Seattle Seahawks

Let's go ahead and put this one in the "pipe dream" category, because the Seattle Seahawks probably aren't very likely to trade DK Metcalf...

Then again, you never know.

There have been some rumors surrounding Metcalf being traded in recent years and if he's even remotely on the market, shouldn't the Cowboys at least be listening? The idea of pairing up Metcalf with CeeDee Lamb is just absolutely silly.

Metcalf is one of the game's premier all-around receivers. Although he was overlooked in the pre-draft process for no good reason, Metcalf has become a dynamic presence for the Seahawks and we saw it come to fruition first under Brian Schottenheimer, who was Seattle's offensive coordinator from 2018-2020.

This would be a reunion of sorts and I wouldn't be shocked in the slightest if Metcalf became available and Schottenheimer was banging down Jerry Jones's door every day to make a trade happen. If you can't double team either of CeeDee Lamb or DK Metcalf, you aren't going to be able to get off the field often if you're facing a Cowboys offense with these two guys in it.

How could Dallas get a deal done? Maybe they would parlay Jalen Tolbert's breakthrough year along with a high draft pick or two to entice Seattle. I'm not sure the Seahawks would get Dallas's top pick this year but then again, Metcalf is only 27. We're likely talking about fantasyland with this kind of move anyway, but among the list of players with connections to Schottenheimer that would be worth trading for, Metcalf has to be at the top.
