3. Tyler Lockett, WR, Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks may actually be motivated to trade Tyler Lockett this offseason, unlike DK Metcalf, because Lockett is set to count over $30 million on their salary cap in 2025.

There's virtually no way the Seahawks are going to be bringing Lockett back at that rate, and they can save a whopping $17 million by cutting or trading him before the start of the new league year. If Lockett still intends to play in 2025, then the Dallas Cowboys with Brian Schottenheimer calling the shots could make a lot of sense.

Lockett is an Oklahoma native so this would be a homecoming in a relative manner of speaking, plus it would be a homecoming in terms of him playing in the Brian Schottenheimer offense again. Lockett made a lot of plays early on in his NFL career, but it was really Schottenheimer who ended up maximizing his abilities and featuring him within the Seattle offense.

Lockett has never had as many targets in any other individual year than he did in 2020 under Schottenheimer (132).

The Cowboys made a relatively similar trade a couple of years ago to acquire Brandin Cooks, but that trade was about as underwhelming as it gets in terms of actual results that helped this team in the long run. Maybe they take another stab at adding a veteran receiver who could add another layer to the offense and give Dak Prescott a plethora of weapons to spread the ball to.
