3. Brandin Cooks, Wide Receiver

This one is a bit tricky because Brandin Cooks landed on injured reserve recently, so how is he going to lose his job during the bye week?

Well, it might not be so much just the bye week but the Cowboys potentially just moving on from Cooks altogether here with the NFL trade deadline approaching.

The Cowboys could make Cooks available via trade for some type of late-round pick swap or they could just flat-out release him when he's healthy enough to play. At this rate, it just doesn't make a ton of sense for Dallas to bring him back into the mix.

The Cowboys have gotten some decent contributions this season from the likes of Jalen Tolbert (finally) as well as KaVontae Turpin. Turpin has frankly been a bit of a surprise for this team offensively after mostly just playing a special teams/return specialist role the last couple of seasons.

Turpin has already set career-bests with 13 receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown, and we're obviously just into the month of October. He's giving the Cowboys more both offensively and on special teams than "The Archer" who doesn't look like he's going to make as big of a difference on this team in 2024 as anyone hoped he potentially could.

If the Cowboys start to find a groove with the trio of CeeDee Lamb, Tolbert, and Turpin at receiver, they would have no good reason to veer off that path whenever Cooks is healthy enough to play.
