5 Rangers on Thin Ice This Offseason
4. Travis Jankowski, OF
After a productive 2023 campaign, veteran outfielder Travis Jankowski returned to earth in 2024.
Jankowski's bat drew the ire of plenty of Rangers fans as he slashed an abysmal .200/.266/.242 through 190 at-bats. He only registered one home run with 12 RBIs and 11 stolen bases along the way, which was quite disappointing given the fact that he had 30 RBIs and 19 SBs in the previous campaign.
Jankowski is slated to hit free agency this winter and it's difficult to find a reason that would justify a return. He's an average outfielder with a below-average bat, which isn't the type of player that the Rangers can rely on to return to the postseason next year.
With players like Jankowski being a dime a dozen, it won't be hard to fill his roster spot with someone else in the coming months. Having just turned 33 years old in June, there isn't a reason to believe that he can be more than what he is at this stage of his career.
